This past year, our board built the infrastructure required to more effectively connect and engage with all our patrons. We worked with the Library and the Town of Atherton to create a Community Master Event Calendar to be promoted by all three entities.

Below is a list of our programs:

Speaker Series
For our adult patrons, we successfully launched our Friends Speaker Series, highlighting the “brain trust” of our local community. Read more about the editions here.

Ice Cream Social & Free Book Exchange
For our young residents we are hosting an Ice Cream Social & Free Book Exchange. This beloved ongoing series at Atherton Library brings the community together over sweet treats and great reads. Enjoy our gallery here.

Atherton’s Earth Day & National Night Out
This event provides an opportunity for the community to connect, build relationships, and engage with local police officers in a friendly and welcoming environment. Learn more about this program here.

Halloween Spooktacular 
The Atherton Police Department, the Town of Atherton, and the Atherton Library come together to host the Annual Halloween Spooktacular at the Atherton Town Center. Don’t miss it next next time! Read more about the event here.

Tree Lighting and Cookie Decorating

On our Agenda
In support of our younger patrons, we worked in collaboration with San Mateo County Libraries and the Town of Atherton to design a new Children’s Discovery Garden, to be built to the side of our new library in a secure location for our smallest patrons and their guardians. We hope to see this up and running in 2025.
